New eco-project starts

bad homburg – The Hochtaunus district is one of 13 municipalities selected for the “Globally Sustainable Municipality of Hesse” project. This will enable the district to develop a sustainability strategy with the support of external experts by the end of 2023. Recommendations for action in the context of the 2030 Agenda are to be developed together with administration, local politics and other actors.

The 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 goals formulated by the United Nations that are intended to help promote sustainable peace and prosperity and protect the planet. These include climate protection measures, sustainable consumer behavior and affordable and clean energy. District administrator Ulrich Krebs, first district councilor Thorsten Schorr (both CDU) and district councilor Katrin Hechler (SPD) recently met with the core team, which is made up of employees from various departments of the district administration, for the official start.

In the following months, an inventory of the existing initiatives will be carried out. These are then linked to new ideas and measures.

In this way, the topic of “sustainability” should be permanently anchored in the administration and district. In addition to administration, politics, civil society and business should also be involved. judo
