Red Devils also support: “The dads here must be awake to follow the World Cup ride” | World Cycling Championships

A good night’s rest. It is one of the dogmas in the preparation of a football player. However, the Red Devils will have to make an exception tomorrow.

Rightly and for good reason. Their cycling colleagues will cross the finish line of the World Cup in Wollongong in the early hours of tomorrow morning. That clearly doesn’t deter some of the Devils.

“Anyone who has children with us is used to getting up early,” Toby Alderweireld told today’s press conference. “Then the television will be turned on immediately. If I can, I’ll take the road trip with me.”

“It’s actually a shame that we can’t follow it completely. For example, the men who don’t have children may stay in their bed a bit too long tomorrow.”

The World Cup in Qatar is therefore not the only World Cup that lives in the training camp of the Red Devils. The World Cup in Wollongong is also regularly talked about. “We are looking forward to the road race and are very hopeful.”

A prediction? “Just a Belgian. We hope a compatriot wins, it doesn’t matter who it is.”
