Real Madrid: Toni Kroos talks about the blatant fan moment – SOCCER CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Toni Kroos (32), despite five Champions League victories, a world championship and six national championships in his career, did not know that.

In his podcast with brother Felix Kroos (31), the Real Madrid star talks about the incredible atmosphere at Celtic Glasgow’s stadium and explains what particularly impressed him!

Toni Kroos explains at the beginning: “We’ve already had the question two or three times, also from listeners, what our favorite stadiums are. There’s a new number one for away trips. And that is Celtic Park.”

Real Madrid visited Celtic in the Champions League on September 6th. Los Blancos won 3-0 with goals from Vinicius (56′), Modric (60′) and Hazard (77′).

Kroos continued: “When we came out to warm up, the stadium was already three quarters full. The fans didn’t care that we came out to warm up, nor that the home team came out. Normally, some are cheered, others are whistled out.”

The midfield star explains the moment when he realized what was in store for him and his team: “Then we’ll come out to the game, line up, mood is ok. Then the Champions League anthem starts and then I thought: the stadium will collapse. It was unbelievable, I’ve never experienced what was going on there. That impressed me. Really unbelievable, deafening.”

And further: “Then the anthem plays, then it’s over and the same game again. After the anthem I already said to David (note: Alaba) that we are definitely already 2-0 down.”

Real won 3-0 in the end, but that didn’t spoil the mood, as Kroos confirms: “I was incredibly impressed that they pulled through to the end. It was already 2-0, 3-0 for us. It’s 3-0, they change two players with ten minutes to go and the whole stadium rises for the players who go out. Unbelievable, an incredibly good atmosphere.”

Kroos particularly liked the fact that there were no negative emotions: “Not just a mood where I say everything for the home fans, but also totally respectful towards us. They clapped for everyone after the game. Of course also fully pro Celtic, but 0.0 percent hostile or disrespectful towards us. Totally decent, outstanding crowd. That was very, very, very impressive. I’ve actually played in a few stadiums, but those 90 minutes were a cool experience.”

The second leg at the Bernabeu Stadium rises on November 2nd. A good atmosphere should be guaranteed. But for Real and Kroos it’s okay today against RB Leipzig (9 p.m.) with the new coach Marco Rose (46) – live at sportbild.de in the ticker.
