Queretanos will arrive at the Intellectual Basketball World Cup

Mexico will have the representation of four queretanos in the Intellectual Basketball World Championship for people with Down Syndrome. This is the first time that the country has qualified for this international event.

The basketball championship will be held from September 29 to October 3 of this year in Madeira, Portugal.

The selected Queretaro athletes are: Alexander Ochoa, Angel Duran and Mario Muñoz, all trained by the state coach Lorraine Sanchezwho practice this discipline in the Adapted Sports Center of the Institute of Sports and Recreation of the State of Querétaro (INDEREQ).

“We expect great results because we have been working very hard, each time the training sessions are more intense, longer and at the same time they do swimming that complements them, they go to the gym and we work with a conventional team to strengthen the part of the work in team”, explained coach Lorena Sánchez.

This is the third edition of the World Cup for people with Down syndrome. Other countries will also be participating, such as: USA. Netherlands, Brazil, France and Australia.
