PSG: the relationship between Neymar and Kylian Mbappe is very good according to Christopher Galtier | Other Soccer Leagues

The PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, has had to come out again due to a possible source of tension between Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, after the controversy over penalties, and has assured that the relationship between the two is “very good”.

At a press conference prior to the league match against Brest, Galtier spoke this Friday about an action in the match against Juventus in Turin on Tuesday, when Mbappé opted in the 51st minute to shoot on goal -unsuccessfully- instead of passing Neymar , best placed to score the third goal. PSG ended up winning with some suffering by 2-1.

“Kylian made a good acceleration inside the area, but he didn’t see Ney. Then, when you see the images on TV, everything seems simple but there are two seconds to make a decision and Kylian was focused on the ball to shoot,” Galtier explained. to apologize to his star player.

The coach, who confessed to having spoken with the French striker about this move, said he was “convinced” that “Mbappé will give assists to Ney, and Ney to Kylian (…) I did not feel anything negative about this game action”, and added: “the relationship between Ney and Kylian is very good. I say it sincerely. They do the exercises together, they are seen together in the warm-ups.” The two attackers had a brush a few weeks ago on account of the order in the penalty shootout.

Galtier was also questioned about some mistakes by the Italian goalkeeper Gigi Donnarumma, who is blamed for an important mistake in the Juventus goal. But he ruled out putting the transalpine on the bench for the benefit of Costa Rican Keylor Navas.

“I’m not going to change the goalkeeper position. We forget that he’s a young goalkeeper even though he’s been playing for a few years,” he said before referring to “two decisive saves he made in Tuesday’s game and advancing that he wants” a well-placed goalkeeper in set pieces, and he has the physique and the technique” to improve in that aspect.

Likewise, he analyzed the last two Spanish signings, Carlos Soler (ex of Valencia) and Fabián Ruiz (ex of Napóles). Galtier left the door open for them to be starters, especially Soler, whom he notes is much more grounded than Ruiz, who was away for a couple of weeks until the signing for PSG was finalized.

“Carlos is on pace, he has done the normal preparation. His last game was played 10 days ago with Valencia,” he said.
