PGA: Max Homa signs a spectacular victory on the last hole in front of Danny Willett

American Max Homa won the Fortinet PGA Tour Championship for the second consecutive year on Sunday, taking the lead over Briton Danny Willett who collapsed on the last hole.

Homa returned a -4 card on the Silverado Resort course in Napa, Calif., for -16 total (272) after four rounds and one shot ahead of Willett, who missed an easy one-yard putt at 18, thus missing the victory.

“It was a bit of a weird endgame,” admitted Max Homa, nevertheless satisfied with his game.

Danny Willett is still looking for a win on the American Tour after his 2016 Masters triumph and two DP World Tour victories.

However, he seemed ready to win on Sunday at the 18th when his third shot had placed him less than 1.5 m from the flag while Max Homa ended up in a bunker.
