Oyonnax outclasses Grenoble and takes the lead in the Pro D2 championship

Oyonnax largely won Thursday evening against Grenoble 46-13 in the opening match of the second day of the French Pro D2 championship and temporarily takes the lead in the standings ahead of Rouen, also undefeated.

Despite a nightmarish start to the match, “Oyo” never trembled against his neighbor Grenoble, yet co-leader of the championship before the meeting.

As soon as the warm-up, the “Oyomen” lost their starting back Darren Sweetnam to concussion. Justin Bouraux, his replacement at short notice, was no more lucky, abandoning his partners, injured, from the 5th minute. On the action of his injury, Grenoble took the opportunity to register the first try of the meeting.

But Oyonnax, thanks in particular to dominating forwards, did not let Grenoble hope for very long and went it alone for the rest of the game, scoring six tries and pocketing an attacking bonus, the second consecutive at home.
