OTC prepares for the start of the South American League and the National League

Oberá Tennis Club (OTC) began the physical preparation for the challenges they will face in the National League and the South American Basketball League (LSD), under the orders of coach Fabio Demti and with the presence of Nicolás de los Santos, team captain.

In this sense, De los Santos is going through the last weeks of preseason and this year, representing the team as captain. This year with several renewals on the campus, such as Santiago González, who joined the “Celeste”.

Prior to the start of the LSD, the preseason began in a good way for Fabio Demti’s team, who obtained two important victories against Boca Juniors and San Lorenzo de Almagro in the city of Buenos Aires, and two home games won strengthen the squad: “We did a very good preparation. It is a new team and we have to have games to get to know each other. We are very anxious and happy for the beginning of the South American League”, indicated the captain.

The level of physical preparation and the rhythm of the games often cause injuries, as in the case of player Matías Sandes, who missed the first adaptive games due to a knee injury. However, from the coaching staff they expect his recovery to resume the LSD games soon.

According to De los Santos, the expectations are very high and the pre-competitive friendly matches serve to improve: “Both the coaching staff and the leadership chose the players and reinforcements very well. The team is new, but we are doing well even though we have to correct some things”, he stated.

Along the same lines, he told what it means to be the captain considering the challenges that lie ahead: “Being the point guard and commanding is a beautiful responsibility, I know Fabio and I know what he wants for the team. I have many years of experience and we hope to give our best for the team”, he assured.

For Celeste, which is part of Group B, activity in the South American League will begin on October 7 at the Luis Augusto Derna Stadium and with the goal of achieving victory, the coaching staff recognized the potential of the Brazilian team, Bauru, who will be in charge of opening the curtain of the competition in front of the Regatas de Corrientes group.

Meanwhile, Celeste will have its absolute debut against a team from Bolivia. On the other hand, the captain stated that they are working together to achieve the objectives: “We have a great coaching staff that will be doing the scouting and getting the videos to analyze the rivals,” he concluded.
