Indonesian National team and Vietnam so the two ASEAN teams that recorded perfect results in the FIFA Matchday September 2022.
The Indonesian national team wiped out two friendly matches against Curacao on September 24 and 27. The 3-2 and 2-1 victories confirmed the quality of the Garuda Squad getting better.
Shin Tae Yong’s cold hands presented an attractive game pattern in both matches. Witan Sulaeman and his friends were able to match the game of Curacao even though they were far adrift in the FIFA rankings.
The goals scored by the Indonesian national team were also produced from a slick process. The victory made Indonesia get additional points to increase its position in the FIFA rankings.
Vietnam also got good results in FIFA Matchday. The Golden Star invites Singapore and India to the agenda of the FIFA calendar.
The team made by Park Hang Seo silenced Singapore 4-0 and beat India 3-0. Nguyen Quang Hai and his compatriots record success clean sheet in this FIFA Matchday.
On the one hand, the slick scores recorded by Indonesia and Vietnam were not presented by other Southeast Asian teams. Bitter pills must be swallowed because it failed to reap positive results.
Myanmar, for example, in the two FIFA Matchday matches against Hong Kong, neither match resulted in a victory. They lost 0-2 in the first meeting and were only able to draw 0-0 in the second match.
Similar results were picked by Singapore. The Lion Country lost 0-4 to Vietnam and drew 1-1 with India.
Laos has a worse fate. They lost 1-3 to Maldives and fell 0-1 to Brunei Darussalam. Likewise with Cambodia who lost 0-1 to Bangladesh.
A quite positive achievement actually came from Brunei Darussalam. Despite losing 0-3 to the Maldives, Brunei was able to rise and beat Laos 1-0.
Meanwhile, two major ASEAN countries, such as Thailand and Malaysia, are participating in the 2022 Kings Cup tournament held by the Thai Football Federation. The competition invited countries from other Confederations such as Trinidad-Tobago and Tajikistan.
However, ASEAN representatives were not able to win the championship title. Tajikistan successfully became champions after defeating Malaysia on penalties. Thailand was previously beaten by Malaysia on penalties in the 2022 Kings Cup.
