AC Milan and Napoli, together with Atalanta Bergamo, shone at the top of the standings in the Italian Serie A after six days. The clash between the two teams was intended to determine who would remain at the top of the standings. At Milan it was mainly looking forward to our compatriots. Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers got the confidence of coach Pioli and started in the base. Aster Vranckx started on the bench. That other Red Devil, Divock Origi, was missing from the Rossoneri with a minor injury.

Milan got off to the best start. Charles De Ketelaere brought Giroud into position, but the Frenchman incomprehensibly missed the opportunity. Napoli got better and better in the game, but couldn’t score before the break.

Tension trumps in the second half

It was after the break. The Georgian sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia put Sergiño Dest in the wind and was then incorrectly stopped by the American. Matteo Politano went behind the ball and shot the ball in with the necessary luck.

Milan was momentarily upset, but systematically restored the balance. Twenty minutes before time it was still hit. Theo Hernandez continued well on the left flank and served Olivier Giroud the equalizer. The French striker had to put his foot against it.

The equalizer gave Milan new energy. De Ketelaere went well past his man and put Messias, who had replaced Alexis Saelemaekers, on his way to a goal. But this time too, our compatriot’s gift was not unwrapped. Messias decided too weak on the goalkeeper.

Milan pushed on, but it was Napoli that took the lead again. Giovanni Simeone put his head against a cross and left goalkeeper Maignan without a chance: 1-2. The Milanese did everything they could, but the bar, among other things, saved Napoli. Thanks to the victory, the Neapolitans jump again to the leading position, together with Atalanta. Milan drops to fifth place, three points behind the leading duo.
