NFL: Giants will be without the services of Sterling Shepard

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced on Tuesday that the team will be without top wide receiver Sterling Shepard for the remainder of the season due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament. during the game against the Dallas Cowbos on Monday.

The injury occurred on the Giants’ last offensive play of the game, as Shepard ran slowly near the sidelines, away from the action, the receiver made a false move and immediately fell to the ground clutching his left knee . Shepard was unable to get up and had to be carried off the field on a cart.

The 29-year-old American leads the team in receiving yards with a total of 154, in addition to being the player with the most plays (157).

This will be the fourth straight season that Shepard has missed at least four games due to injury. In recent years, injuries to his Achilles tendon, quadriceps and thigh had slowed him down.

Jalen Guyton is placed on the injured list

The Los Angeles Charges placed receiver Jalen Guyton on the disabled list and called outside linebacker Derrek Tuszka off waivers on Tuesday.

Tuszka got his first NFL start last week with the Tennessee Titans. In the victory of his against the Las Vegas Raiders, he totaled two tackles. Tuszka is a 2020 Denver Broncos seventh-round pick and also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Guyton, in his fourth season with the Chargers, suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during his team’s last possession last week. The Chargers ultimately went down 38-10 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He caught two passes for 64 yards in the game, including a 54-yard catch in the third quarter.
