The question that everyone in Cleveland and in Spain is asking is “when will Ricky Rubio return to the courts?”

“I wanted to be ready for (preseason) training camp, but I knew it was impossible. Talking to my coaches and medical staff they say my recovery will take 10 to 12 months, but it’s a long term. It changes every week. But I think that it’s not good to put a date on when I’m going to be back,” Ricky Rubio acknowledged at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse during the Cavaliers’ Media Day.

“Let’s see how the next two or three weeks go, working some with the team and then see how my mind and body connect to get back to playing again. The contact part is going to be the most important to see where I’m at. I’m going to take my time. I’m going to go step by step,” the 31-year-old Spanish point guard said of the next steps in his recovery process.
