In San Siro, Sunday evening was the battle for the leading place in the Serie A. National champions Milan welcomed Napoli, with Charles De Ketelaere and man-in-form Alexis Saelemaekers two Red Devils kicking off.
The first half did not provide much excitement, but after the break the spectators did not have to wait too long for a goal. Newcomer Sergiño Dest, who came in at halftime, tapped Kvaratskhelia. The ball went on the dot, Politano converted it.
Milan had to react and did. De Ketelaere started the action in minute 69 with a good pass, Hernandez served Giroud in front of goal: 1-1. Milan smelled blood and wanted more than one point, but couldn’t find the 2-1 anymore.
Napoli did: substitute Simeone nodded a cross from Mario Rui past a grabbing Maignan. The Neapolitans hand Milan their first defeat of the season and jump next to Atalanta to the top of the competition. Milan is joint fourth with 14 on 21.
