Alberto Gamero knew it: this second half of 2022 will have to do without Juan Pablo Vargas, his starting central defender, in important games and phases of the Liga BetPlay II and possibly of the BetPlay Cup.
The Costa Rican was injured last Saturday in the classic against Santa Fe. In his place came José Cuenú, to form a pair of defenders with Andrés Llinás. Thus, this Monday he will undergo medical examinations and thus know the seriousness of his injury and the time off.
Although as has been said in the albiazul environment, Vargas will be taken care of and will not be taken into account for the match on Wednesday, September 7 against Independiente Medellín, in the second leg of the semifinal of the BetPlay Cup 2022. The advantage of 2-0, would allow the albiazul afford to take care of one of their references in the defensive zone.
However, what is worrying is that Juan Pablo Vargas has two fixed games absent in Millonarios, in important games of Liga II. This was announced by coach Alberto Gamero: thus, due to the friendlies in Costa Rica, and the call already made by Luis Fernando Suárez, the Tico will not play against Junior in Barranquilla (date 13), and against América in Bogotá (date 14 ).
