Mercato: stealing Tudor from OM, Juve is thinking about it …

Weakened by the poor results of Juventus Turin, Massimiliano Allegri has not yet left. But the management is already studying several profiles to prepare for his eventual succession. OM coach Igor Tudor is a track in Italy.

Tudor is under contract with OM until 2024.

Only 8th in Serie A after seven days, Juventus Turin made a start to the season far from their standard. And inevitably, the bad results weaken the position of Massimiliano Allegri on the Turin bench. The defeat against Monza on Sunday (0-1) did not calm the ardor of the tifosi, many of whom are calling for the coach to leave.

Transfer Allegri, at an expensive price…

Problem, a change of coach at this time of the season would be very expensive for the Old Lady. Indeed, the Italian daily Tuttosport estimates that the Turin management should pay nearly 45 million euros to the 55-year-old technician for the remaining months of his contract which runs until June 2025. And bring in a successor of a standing at least as high as Allegri would raise the bill to €80 million for a lease until 2025, the newspaper calculates.

Despite the current sporting difficulties, Juve is therefore in no hurry – for financial reasons – to send Allegri away. This does not prevent management from anticipating a future departure. The Italian press is already talking about several names to replace the native of Livorno, such as that of Thomas Tuchel, recently dismissed by Chelsea, or Domenico Tedesco, without a club since leaving RB Leipzig.

Tudor entered Juve

The Igor Tudor track was also released in Italy. La Repubblica claims that the Olympique de Marseille coach is a solution envisaged by the Pimont club for next season. Passed by Juve as a player (1998-2007) and assistant (2020-2021), the Croatian has the advantage of knowing the club and will cost less one year from the end of his contract with OM, where his good debut in Ligue 1 (6 wins and 2 draws in 8 days) did not escape the Bianconeri.

It remains to be seen whether Tudor can be tempted in the event of Juve approaching next summer. And especially if the Turin leaders will wait until then. Because to limit the expenses linked to a change of coach, Juve could also opt for an internal solution by giving a chance to Paolo Montero, former defender of Juventus (1996-2005) and current coach of the U19s of Turin. In the meantime, OM will closely follow the movements of the Old Lady on the coaching market.
