SANTO DOMINGO. Dominican Manuel Simó García won the silver medal in the cadet category minus 55 kilos at the Pan American Judo Championship that began this Wednesday in Bogotá, Colombia.
Simó García kept the silver medal after losing in the final against Jerónimo Mira Pérez, from Colombia.
In the semifinal, the Quisqueyan defeated Jean Carlos Maldonado, from Colombia.
The bronze went to Gabriel Zamora Soto, from Costa Rica.
For this Thursday the fights will take place in the junior category, while on Friday and Saturday the disputes will be in the superior category.
The Pan American Open will award points for qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris, France 2024.
