California, USA At California Lutheran University they have their tennis team, with a touch of Hispanic talent, which is where Luisa García joins.
In this month of Hispanic heritage, The Echo dedicated space to talk with the young tennis player and university student, who has influenced the Latin culture in her team.
“Being Hispanic is very special… I love my culture very much and it has literally shaped who I am. It has brought me so many beautiful things like my family, and it has also brought me so many friends. It has made me really unique and it has also brought me a lot of lessons,” Garcia said.
Garcia goes out of her way to speak a little Spanish with her teammates, she said she also hopes to see more Hispanic talent on the team.
She is in her second year playing for the California Luthern University women’s tennis team.
