Lekeitio attends today the outcome for the last place for the Masters play-off

This summer Lekeitio will not have its usual San Antolín professional baseball tournament, but it will have a couple of matches that could mark the future of the couples participating in the CaixaBank Masters. Without going any further, this afternoon (5:00 p.m.) the fronton Santi Brouard attends the outcome for the last place in the championship play-off. After four rounds played, Urrutikoetxea and Rezusta have arrived alive without obtaining a single victory and they play it against Laso and Martija who have only one victory. Whoever wins will be in the next round because, according to the regulations, in case of a tie, they send the result between them.

The Biscayan and the one from Bergara need to react in a competition in which they did not start off on the right foot and, although they have shown some signs of improvement, they have not managed to capture the power they have in their hands. After an intense month of August, they have had several days off to face the decisive match.

Laso and Martija have had a fairly similar journey. They took a breather in the match against Irribarria and Albisu de Lekunberri on matchday three, but they couldn’t ratify their change of course on the next matchday, so they will play it all on one card.

On Sunday in Lezama (5:00 p.m.) Ezkurdia and Mariezkurrena II will play against Jaka and Zabaleta. The former depend on themselves to get the first place in the classification, the only one that gives direct access to the semifinals. On Monday at the same time the Masters will return to Lekeitio for the third and last match of the fifth day between Altuna III-Imaz and Irribarria-Albisu.

The presence of the Amezketa striker is still up in the air. The slight break that he suffered in the biceps of the thigh of his right leg almost two weeks ago needs time and it will be the Gipuzkoan’s sensations that will dictate whether he wears white or not. He doesn’t want to risk a possible relapse because there is barely a month and a half left before the start of Cuatro y Medio.

Farewell to Untoria

Álvaro Untoria will play his last professional game with Aspe on the 17th at the frontón court in Nájera, his home town. The promoter from Eibar has set up a nice meeting for him to say goodbye. The Riojan defender will have Altuna III as his partner and will face Zabala and Rezusta.
