Laura Santos, the brightest racket in Zamora

Zamora enjoyed throughout this weekend the best national badminton rackets thanks to the celebration in the Angel Grandson of Absolute National Master Trophy N-3event organized by the Badminton Zamora which allowed the local public to enjoy the highest level of the sport of featherweight. A sporting excellence among which stood out Laura Santosproper name of the tournament when raised as winner in both the singles and women’s doubles.

More than a hundred of the most talented players in the country measured their strength capital of the Douro since Saturday. A first day of competition dedicated to the matches of a very open preliminary phase and that offered a great spectacle in the hard fight to reach the final phase of the draw in the different categories (men’s singles, women’s singles, women’s doubles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles). A fight that even brought some surprises such as the elimination in the men’s box of Paul Abian.

The icing on the event, which had a large influx of people to give a remarkable color to the stands of the Ángel Nieto, was put on Sunday. A morning session made up of the semi-finals and finals of the tournament.

The farewell of the Absolute National Master Trophy N-3 lived up to expectations and provided really entertaining and eye-catching matches between several of the best rackets and couples on the national scene. A chosen group of athletes among whom Laura Santos stood out.

Santos extended his excellent streak on track by winning in the two women’s categories; first in the doubles, along with Haidee Ojeda (defeating Álvarez and Torralba) and later in the individual category (beating Sonia Martínez).

Along with the two-time champion, the honor roll of the appointment with the best badminton in Zamora featured Alexander Perez as the men’s singles champion, the Sánchez-Zapico duo as the winner of the men’s double, and the couple Lorenzo Adell and Andrea Arrones as champions in mixed category.
