Kubriashvili already out for several weeks

Barely arrived in Clermont, the Georgian suffers from the right knee and will be unavailable for several weeks.

Clermont’s Georgian right prop, Davit Kubriashvili, will be out for several weeks due to a “slight sprain of the internal lateral ligament” in his right knee, the Top 14 club announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Recently recruited by ASM as an additional player to replace Rabah Slimani, absent four months after an arm injury, Kubriashvili, (36, 47 caps) was injured during the warm-up for the Clermont-La Rochelle (22-13) on Sunday, “accidentally caught in overhang”.

This injury therefore prevents him from making his debut with the Auvergne club, which hosts Lyon at the Michelin stadium on Saturday (5:00 p.m.), on behalf of the 5th day. The center Julien Hériteau, released in the 41st minute of the match against La Rochelle, suffers meanwhile “from a muscular injury to the hamstrings and will be unavailable for several weeks”, further specifies the ASM.

Clermont (4th, 9 points), on the other hand, will be able to count again on its Argentinian players, the second row Tomas Lavanini and the winger Bautista Delguy, who returned at the start of the week from South Africa where they played in the Rugby Championship with the Pumas .
