Juventus Turin – Paul Pogba on the blackmail case: “They pointed their guns at me” – FOOTBALL INTERNATIONAL

On his return to Juventus Turin, Paul Pogba (29) was enthusiastically received by the fans. But both the French international and the Serie A club had imagined their start with the “old lady” quite differently.

Pogba has not yet played a game for the Italians, had to undergo knee surgery and will be out for a long time. Whether he can play the World Cup is more than questionable.

Above all, however, the 29-year-old midfielder is burdened with private problems. His older brother Mathias and four childhood friends tried to blackmail the soccer star. The men are in custody, Paul Pogba and his mother Yeo Moriba are currently under police protection.

Now the 2018 world champion has spoken about the case. He reveals shocking details to “Le Monde”, describing an incident from last March when his brother and two men threatened him: “I was afraid. The two boys pointed their guns at me.”

It is said to have been the evening of March 19 and a situation in Chanteloup-en-Brie. He was then forced to turn off his cell phone, it was taken from him.

Pogba continued: “Then after being threatened like that, I told them I would pay. They shouted, ‘Shut up, look down’. One of the two hooded men spoke into Roushdane’s (a gang member) ear. When the hoods left, Roushdane told me I had to pay them or we would all be in danger.”

The criminals demanded 13 million euros from him.

On Sunday night it was announced that the French judiciary had initiated investigations against his brother and four other people in connection with the allegations of blackmail against Pogba.

According to the public prosecutor’s office, Matthias Pogba is now accused of extortion in an organized gang and participation in a criminal organization in preparation for a crime. The others were charged with, among other things, extortion with weapons in an organized gang and false imprisonment.

Matthias Pogba and three of his alleged accomplices are currently in custody. The proceedings that have now been initiated could lead to criminal proceedings if the investigating judges finally see sufficient evidence. Otherwise they could stop the procedure.
