John McEnroe: “Alcaraz is going to be incredible”

John McEnroe, former number 1 in the world and one of the most charitable characters in tennis, stated that Carlos alcaraz “it’s going to be increble” and that the sport “goes on” even if the biggest ones leave.

The American legend attended Efe moments after his team, the Rest of the World, win the Laver Cup for the first time in its history, defeating Europe 13-8.

McEnroe, who was photographed with Bjorn Borg this week on Center Court at Wimbledon, looking back on the 1980 final he lost to the Swede, and talked about the rivalries that come in the future.

“Carlos is going to be incredible,” McEnroe said. “Frances (Tiafoe) the Felix (Auger-Aliassime) are also going to be very big.”

“The sport goes on. It doesn’t matter how great those who have been before. I quite like the future, because I was at the US Open and I saw the energy that these guys transmit. Roger, Rafa and Novak have been incredible. And Novak and Rafa are still playing and God knows what they have left to win. But the ones that come now are also going to be very good,” added McEnroe.
