Iznalloz once again celebrates its Hunting Fair to promote hunting activity as the engine of rural development in Granada

From September 30 to October 2, Iznalloz will celebrate the XIX edition of the Hunting Faira conference that aims to promote hunting activity as a sustainable engine of rural development, promote hunting and rural tourism in the province and contribute to the diversification and socioeconomic development of the Montes Orientales region.

The fair activity will take place in the Municipal Sports Pavilion of Iznalloz. The venue will remain open on Friday, September 30 from 1:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday it will start its activities at 10:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Admission is free.

During the three days of the fair, those who attend will be able to visit some thirty stands where the different exhibitors related to the world of hunting exhibit their products and services. In addition, an extensive program of parallel activities is organized that combines active competitions with exhibitions, informative activities, official competitions, gastronomic tastings and other leisure activities.

The fair, which is going ahead thanks to the collaboration between the City Council and the Provincial Council, was presented this morning at the institution’s headquarters by the Deputy for Sports, Manolo Guirado, and the Mayor of Iznalloz, Mariano Lorente. Guirado has recalled that this activity has “many development possibilities” and that in the case of the Montes Orientales, where the rural environment predominates, “it represents an opportunity to generate businesses, revitalize the economy of the territory and face the demographic challenge in the province.”

In this sense, the deputy explained that the fair is a showcase for “commercial firms that have the possibility of showing themselves to the entire sector, while other areas such as hospitality and lodging benefit”.

For his part, Lorente has highlighted that this “is a consolidated sector in the rural area, generator of wealth and employment; many people are linked to hunting activity”.

According to Lorente, it is not just a trade fair for the world of hunting, but “during that weekend different activities will be developed in the natural environment for all types of public”. The event also includes a stand of the Junta de Andalucía to promote the introduction of the Iberian lynx in the Montes Orientales region”.

Thus, among the activities the mayor has reviewed the Falconatura Association’s falconry contest, archery or the compressed air shooting gallery, in addition to various exhibitions and exhibitions.
