IBIZA 2022 dyes the island of badminton and also ‘green’

The IBERDROLA Spanish International, the Spanish International Under 15 and Under 17 and the European Under 15 Championship, these three important competitions that have been held this September in Ibiza have not only dyed the island of badminton, but also ‘green ‘, the color that represents the environment and sustainability, a philosophy that fits in with the character of the Ibizan capital in particular and of the Balearic Islands in general, due to the fact that it has a very rich natural environment.

In this way, with the aim of contributing to the reduction of pollution and the carbon footprint, and thanks to the support and collaboration of the Consell and the Ibiza Town Hall, the athletes and coaches who have participated in the aforementioned tournaments have moved in public transport, while the organization has done so in hybrid cars, specifically four Toyota CHR donated by the Ebusus Motor dealership, official sponsor of the championships, with the support of Toyota Spain. Airport pick-ups have been carried out with these cars, as well as all internal transfers.

Ibiza, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, has been a meeting and exchange point for different cultures, from the Punic to the Phoenicians, Byzantines, Visigoths, Muslims and Romans. Today it is an icon for its privileged natural environment, in addition to its cultural and heritage assets, for its cheerful and cosmopolitan atmosphere and its sports, gastronomic and leisure offer for all audiences. It is for all this that Ibiza has become a mythical and paradisiacal destination that attracts travelers from all over the world and that must be taken care of, also from an environmental point of view, which is why these important badminton competitions have been painted ‘ green’.
