Hungarian bizarre. Prime Minister Orbán wants the Milan derby to be played in the village of Felcsút

It sounds crazy, but Viktor Orbán clearly means it. The Hungarian Prime Minister wants the derby between the famous football clubs from Milan to be played in the village of Felcsút. According to the Italian media, he already offered the Italian Football Federation eight million euros (almost 200 million crowns) for this.

AC Milan will face arch-rivals Inter on January 18 in the Italian Super Cup, the traditional battle between the Serie A champion and the Coppa Italia winner.

And Orbán wants this prestigious match to take place in the village where he spent a significant part of his childhood and which, thanks to the prime minister’s favor, is according to statistics the richest municipality in Hungary.

In 2014, a stadium for four thousand spectators was also built in it. At the same time, only so many people live in Felcsút that they would not fill even half the capacity of the Pancho Arena…

However, according to the Italian newspaper La Republicca, Italian officials are still considering the Hungarian politician’s generous offer.

Supposedly also because it would be easier for the participants to travel to Hungary than, for example, to Riyadh, where the Italian Super Cup was played in 2018 and 2019.

Felcsút is located about 35 kilometers from Budapest, and Hungarian league matches are played there by Puskás Académia, whose official website names Orbán as its founder.

Czech players Jakub Plšek and Patrizio Stronati also feature in the squad of the fourth team in the table, whose last home league match was attended by 1,028 spectators, as well as former Slavia Prague player Alexandru Baluta. The team is coached by Slovak coach Zsolt Hornyák, who also worked at Slovan Liberec.
