No chemotherapy necessary for Boetius |
Hertha star had testicles removed
Breathe a sigh of relief at Jean-Paul Boetius (28) and Hertha BSC!
After his testicle operation, the Dutchman does not need any chemotherapy. BILD knows: The midfielder had a testicle removed last Friday, the diagnosis showed that the tumor discovered during a check-up was malignant.
BUT: Since the tumor was detected so early, it had not yet spread. Luckily, chemo is not required.
Hertha coach Sandro Schwarz (43) at the press conference today: “The international break was very emotional for us with Djanga’s finding. That’s why we’re happy that there’s a similar course to Marco’s.”
With Marco, the coach means Marco Richter (24). The Hertha star had already had to undergo testicular cancer surgery in June, but did not require chemotherapy either.
In view of the increasing number of cases of testicular tumors, the Berlin coaching team “clearly recommended that all players be examined as a precautionary measure,” said Schwarz and explained: “I did it myself at the beginning of the week.”
In addition to Boetius, BVB star Sebastien Haller (28) is also affected by a testicular tumor, Timo Baumgartl (26) from local rival Union Berlin has already made his comeback on the lawn after chemotherapy, as has Richter.
Boetius visited his teammates in the dressing room yesterday. Everyone at Hertha now hopes that he can be back on the pitch in a few weeks.
