Governor Lee and other participants visited the Jeongnamjin Saturday Market in Jangheung-gun, Jeollanam-do and Daebul National Industrial Complex in Yeongam-gun to find ways to revitalize traditional markets, attract companies, and revitalize investments, and received briefings from officials and toured the site.
They listened to successful cases of traditional market operation and toured markets with a variety of food and attractions, and exchanged opinions with businesses in the industrial complex to explore ways to attract businesses and revitalize investments in Goseong-gun.
Based on this day’s benchmarking, the county plans to discover policies that can be applied to Goseong-gun, study ways to revitalize the local economy, and present a direction for implementation suitable for Goseong-gun.
Governor Lee Sang-geun said, “This benchmarking will be a good opportunity to compare with the reality of our military and get various ideas while encountering cases of other local governments. We will come up with a plan,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jeongnamjin Saturday Market started as the nation’s first weekend market and has been spotlighted as an excellent market in the country.
Goseong-gun Bicycle Federation, pray for the success of Dinosaur Expo 2022
The Goseong-gun Bicycle Federation (Chairman Hong-sik Kim) completed the 867km ‘Cycling to pray for the success of the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo’, which was held for 9 days and 8 nights from September 8, and returned to Goseong-gun on the 16th.
This ‘Cycling across the country to pray for the success of the 2022 Dinosaur Expo’ was prepared to promote the 2022 Dinosaur Expo by visiting local government offices as well as those meeting by bicycle traversing a total of 867 km from Incheon to Busan and Jeju.

Selected as two winners of the 2022 Goseong-gun Civil Award
Goseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-geun) held the Goseong-gun People’s Award Deliberation Committee with 18 members in attendance at the Goseong-gun Office mid-conference room on September 21 to select the 2022 Goseong-gun Civil Award winners.
The Goseong-gun People’s Award serves as a model for all citizens, and is selected and awarded to no more than two people every year for those who have made Goseong-gun’s honor shine in all fields, such as community development, culture and arts, and social service, or who have made remarkable achievements in the development of our town.
As a result of the deliberation on that day, two people, Dochunghong (81 years old) from Goseong-eup and Lee Dongja (69 years old) from Goseong-eup, were awarded the honor of being selected.
Do Chung-hong (81 years old), as the 8th, 9th, and 10th head of the Goseong Cultural Center, worked hard to elevate the status of the Goseong Cultural Center .

The Goseong Courtyard Landscape Agriculture Autumn Festival opens on September 27th
Goseong-gun (Gun Governor Lee Sang-geun) will hold an autumn festival from September 27 to October 3 at the landscape agricultural complex in the courtyard of Giwol-ri, Goseong-eup.
This autumn festival will be held in connection with the Danghangpo Tourist Area, where the 2022 Dinosaur Expo will be held, and the Songhak-dong Tombs, where the Sogaya Cultural Festival will be held so that tourists visiting Goseong can enjoy the joys of Goseong.

Goseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-geun) will hold the 45th Sogaya Cultural Festival in Songhak-dong Tombs and Goseong-eup for three days from September 30th to October 2nd.
This event, sponsored by Goseong-gun and organized by the Sogaya Cultural Preservation Association, is held under the theme of ‘Goseong Songhak-dong Tombs as a World Heritage Site!’ .
Unlike the previous events that were reduced due to COVID-19, this Sogaya Cultural Festival offers a variety of performances and events, such as a fishing parade, hanging wish lanterns, a military singing contest, and a pleasant orchestra with Kim Hyun-chul, while making efforts to hold a safe cultural festival. It allows you to experience and feel a variety of cultural arts.

Goseong-gun (Governor Lee Sang-geun) will hold the ‘2022 Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur Country National Badminton Tournament’ for two days from September 24 to 25 at 7 gyms including the Goseong-gun National Sports Center.
Hosted and supervised by the Goseong-gun Badminton Association (Chairman Jeong-hoon Jang), this tournament is attended by 870 teams and 2,000 people who are badminton fans from all over the country. It will be held as a festival for all badminton lovers across the country where they can enjoy high-level Gyeonggi together with the participating Gyeonggi-do.
