Golfer Daniela Darquea finished second in the Portland Classic tournament

the golfer, Daniela Darquea got a historic second place in the Portland Classic one of the most traditional golf competitions in the world. This is the first podium of the Ecuadorian Tour of the Professional Golf Association for Ladies (LPGA).

Darquea finished the competition with 270 hits, just one away from the tournament champion, the American Andrea Lee. Born in Quito, she was the first Ecuadorian woman to qualify for an Olympic Games in golf.

Darquea participated in Tokyo 2021. With this second place, he rose in the LPGA ranking from 413 to 218 and rose to 59th place in the season ranking. In addition, he earned USD 139,000 dollars.

“I am very happy for what I have done, I came to this tournament with all my energy and things went quite well”, mentioned Darquea after the competition.

Daniela had a great participation in this competition that allowed him to enter the LPGA main draw for the 2023 season. “Last year was very bad and I was not where I had to be. After this, I’m very excited for what’s to come,” she commented.

The next goals of Darquea will be promoted in the LGPA ranking and obtain their place in Paris 2024.
