Fury announces that his expected fight against Joshua will not happen

Fury announced on Friday that former world champion Joshua must sign the contract for the December fight by 5pm on Monday or the fight will not take place.

“So what’s up guys. It’s official. The day has come, the time has passed and the contract is not signed,” Fury said on his Instagram account Monday night. “It’s all over for Joshua.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, previously said it was “impossible” to sign the contract by Monday.

It has already been reported that at the beginning of September, Fury offered Joshua a fight until the end of the year. Additionally, Fury wanted at least 60 percent of the fight’s prize pool, which Joshua agreed to.

It was planned that the British heavyweight “super fight” will be held on December 3.

As you know, Joshua met Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik again at the end of August and again lost on points, failing to regain the championship belts of the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Boxing Federation (IBF) and World Boxing Organization (WBO), as well as the International Boxing Organization ( IBO) title.

Fury himself announced his retirement in April when he defeated compatriot Dillian Whyte in a fight to retain the WBC belt.

34-year-old Fury has had 33 fights in professional boxing. He has 32 wins, 23 of which were premature, and one draw. He defended the WBC championship belt won against US boxer Deontay Wilder twice in February 2020.

32-year-old Joshua is the heavyweight champion of the 2012 London Olympics, but he has fought 27 professional boxing matches, winning 24 (22 by knockout) and losing three.
