Because of its last poor results in the League of Nations, the France team will not be seeded in qualifying for Euro 2024 and will have to settle for hat 2.

The Blues now see it a little clearer. While the draw for the Euro 2024 qualifying groups is scheduled for Sunday October 9 in Frankfurt (from 12 p.m.), the France team already knows that it will not be among the top seeds. Indeed, following the latest results of the group stage of the League of Nations, the 2018 world champions in Russia will be in pot 2 because of their recent poor performances, they who are the worst of the third in League A . Thereby, the team led by Didier Deschamps should meet a big nation in qualifying for the next European Championshipwhich will take place in Germany.

A big piece for the Blues?

Placed in hat 2, the Blues could find the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Portugal or Belgium in their pool. As a reminder, during these qualifiers, which will take place between May and November 2023, there will be seven groups of five selections and three of six nations. You will have to finish in the top two to directly validate your ticket for the competition, while the three remaining tickets will be awarded following playoffs between the best non-qualified selections from the first three leagues (A, B and C) of the League of nations. Note that if the team of Hans-Dieter Flick is logically already qualified for its tournament, Russia will not participate in the qualificationsa direct consequence of the invasion of the Russian army in Ukraine since the beginning of 2022.
