Flamengo and Paranaense will play the final

This Wednesday the finalists of the Libertadores Cup of America 2022. Last Tuesday the first one who came out of the duel between Palmeiras and Athletico Paranaense was known. At the Allianz Parque stadium in Sao Paulo, those led by Luiz Felipe Scolari eliminated the current champion after a global score of three to two.

The other finalist was also defined in Brazilian lands. In the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro, Flamengo received Vélez Sarsfield who was down on the scoreboard by four goals. In the home of the ‘cariocas’ things were no different and in the end it was a hefty six to one overall.

Thus, for the third year in a row, the final of the most important club tournament in South America will be played between Brazilian teams. In 2020, Palmeiras and Santos defined the champion, and in 2021 the final was played between Flamengo and the ‘verdao’, who became two-time champion of America. The grand final will be played next Saturday, October 29 at the Monumental stadium in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

The ‘mengao’ will go for his third Copa Libertadores, Well, he had already been champion in 1981 and in 2018, defeating Marcelo Gallardo’s River Plate. Paranaense, for its part, will seek to lift its first title. In 2005 they also reached the final match but fell to Sao Paulo.
