Parma – Jule Niemeier experienced a disappointment at the tennis tournament in Parma. The German hope for the future lost against the Italian Jasmine Paolini 7:5, 4:6, 2:6 and was eliminated in the first round.
Niemeier, who had reached the round of 16 at the US Open, had to admit defeat after 2:19 hours. The 23-year-old only fought her way into the main draw after qualifying.
