Fifa confirmed that they will sell alcohol at the Qatar 2022 World Cup

The Fifa announced this Saturday that the consumption of alcohol in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be authorized in the area around the stadiums before and after the matches, after months of delicate negotiations in this regard with the authorities of the small Muslim state of the Gulf, where the Consumption of this type of beverage is very restricted.

This issue is sensitive for Fifa, since one of its major sponsors has been a beer brand for three decades. The arrival of fans from all over the world is expected to Qatar for this tournament, which will take place from November 20 to December 18.

According to the governing body of football, the beer sales stands will be accessible in the area around the stadiums when there is a match and will be closed 30 minutes before the start of each match. Those same outlets will be open for a short time after the game.
