Excellent results for Soriano badminton this weekend

The Soria Badminton Club players once again had a frenetic weekend of competitions, being present in up to three scoring tests for the national ranking, reaping excellent results.

The most fruitful event was undoubtedly the one played by the seniors from Soria, both from the capital club and the AD89 from Burgos, obtaining victory in most of the tests they played with a final balance of seven golds, two silvers and two bronzes.

David Hernansanz counted all his matches for victories both in the singles modality and in the men’s doubles that he played. In the individual final he would beat the player from Club Badminton Leganés, Sebastián López, with whom he would win gold in the doubles category. The match that would determine the victory in said draw had a double presence from Soria, in this case by Sergio Latorre from Burgos who won the runner-up position by teaming up with Sergio Tallante from Madrid.

There was also a double in the age category B with two wins both in the individual and in the men’s double by Santiago Martínez from Soriano. As happened two weeks ago, he prevailed in the individual box, adding to this medal the triumph in the men’s doubles modality together with Manuel Acero, his usual partner. He also won the bronze medal in the individual category.

For his part, José Carlos improved the performance of his teammates, achieving victory in both the individual test and the men’s and mixed doubles. In an excellent state of form, he won the individual draw without giving up a set, adding also the triumphs of the men’s double with Fernando Herrero, from the Badminton Bianconero Club and in the mixed double with Begoña Duque representing the Leganés Badminton Club.

Finally, Cristina Puebla of the AD89 of El Burgo de Osma obtained two medals in the doubles modalities, in the women’s double she got the runner-up with Silvia Rueda, also from the Leganés Badminton Club and the bronze in the mixed double with Sergio Latorre, partner of your club.

In addition to these seniors, the women of the Soriano club Daniela Corchón and Nora Martínez participated in two national masters of their various categories.

On the one hand Corchón (sub17) obtained in Xàtiva the bronze medal in the individual modality in a competition with the presence of the best national rackets. In this test, the athlete decided to participate exclusively in individual where she easily surpassed the previous group phase to be knocked out of the competition in the semifinal round.

For her part, Nora Martínez traveled to Zamora where the Angel Nieto pavilion hosted the penultimate absolute master of the season. The soriana, limping from a minor injury, was unable to access the elimination round despite proving to be close to the best in Spain in both singles and doubles.
