Ex-teammate attacks Ben Simmons after story: ‘He lied about it’

As the recovery approaches for the Nets, Ben Simmons has decided to break the silence by giving his version of the facts. He notably returned to the events at the Sixers, where he was fired from training by Doc Rivers. However, a former teammate quickly contradicted him, making it clear that the Aussie lied about it.

After a long time without playing, Ben Simmons is preparing to return to the courts with the Nets in the coming days. There was a false start in the last playoffs with a last-minute injury, but the Australian will be present for training camp, alongside Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Before finally turning the page, the former Sixer returned to many topics during the recent JJ Redick podcast, including concerning the Sixers.

Ben Simmons explains the famous workout!

We remember in particular a big mess after Doc Rivers decided to fire Simmons from training, while the player was obviously not ready “mentally” according to his words. This is what he explains on this famous scene:

I was trying to make the right choice. To do things right with my team, my teammates, everyone. But the truth is, I wasn’t ready to play at that time.

I couldn’t play, I really couldn’t. But before I got kicked out of practice, I actually talked to Doc Rivers. I said, “Doc, I’m not mentally ready to play. I can’t. Hope you can understand. I tried to warn him. And he answered me by saying to me: “I will make you play in any case. So I was just like, ‘Okay. »

He told me to come to the court after one minute during practice. He was there saying, “Well, get on the floor. Go Ben » But nobody does that, he did that voluntarily. That’s how I see it, I was like, ‘Oh okay, everybody’s trying to make fun of me now. (…) It was really an accumulation of things. I didn’t handle this story the right way, but neither did they. Just like the people who have power in this organization.

Clearly, Simmons isn’t shy about tackling Rivers, who sought to provoke him in front of teammates if that statement is to be believed. It’s already known that the player didn’t have the right behavior but many have questioned the Sixers regarding their management. However, this version does not at all please Austin Rivers, the son of the Doc precisely. In a simple Instagram comment, the leader made it clear that his former teammate had told beautiful lies:

“Dude, are you really here to believe this guy?” If only you knew…”

Did Ben Simmons tell the truth about the famous training, and other topics during his conversation with JJ Redick? Obviously, Austin Rivers disagrees. Is he trying to protect his father? Possible. But the new Nets player may be trying to protect himself by telling this story. Not sure that the truth will explode one day.
