Engineer convicted of scamming ex-NBA player Luis Flores arrested

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Judicial District of Santiago, through the Department of Capture of Fugitives, Rebels and Condemned, arrested the engineer Juan Erasmo Duran Duranwho had been convicted of swindling 35 million pesos and forging the signature of former NBA player Luis Flores.

Durán Durán, who had been a fugitive since April of this year, after being sentenced to two years in prison and the payment of 5 million in compensation to Flores, he was taken to the little jail of the Santiago Palace of Justice.

From there he will be transferred to the Rafey Hombre Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCRH) in Santiago, where he will serve his sentence.

The former gunman of the Dominican team had sued the Santiago prosecutor’s office against the engineer, who allegedly swindled him by forging the signatures of him and his wife, Georgina González, to sell four of the apartments that make up a building owned by him . Erasmo Durán Durán, had been sentenced, in a first instance for the Fourth Criminal Chamber in 2017to two years in prison and the payment of 5 million in compensation, that same sentence was ratified on appeal in the Supreme Court of Justice in 2019.

Since that date, the sentence had not been executed, and it was now in April of this year, when the legal representatives of Flores, requested the execution of the sentence to be executed.
