Daima Beltrán highlights celebration in the DR of the judo camp

The preparation meeting for judo athletes takes place at the Olympic Hostel with trained technicians from the area.

Cuban Olympic medalist Daima Beltranvalued as positive the training camp of judo which takes place at the facilities of the Olympic Hostel.

The award-winning former athlete pointed out that the training camp, which brings together junior judokas from the Americas, seeks to raise the technical level of athletes from the continent for the next Olympic cycles.

The first Pan American Judo Campin which 63 athletes from 10 countries participate, is sponsored by Panam Sports, under the coordination of the Pan American Judo Confederation (CPJ) and the collaboration of the Dominican Federation of this sport.

Beltrán, who is the main sensei that directs the call, pointed out that the Pan American judokas need this type of dynamics so that they can achieve successful results in the main world events.

“If we want to be at the level of Asian judokas, we must continue with this type of dynamic, where all Pan-American judo converges in search of achieving the result,” said the Cuban, silver medalist at the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games .

The also two-time world judo champion (Paris 1997 and Birmingham 1999), considered the experience of being part of the development of the new litter of judokas from the American continent as unique. “It is a beautiful and wonderful experience to see these young people with a dream, looking to have a good result.”
