Crown Prince Frederik inaugurated the 18 holes of the Made in HimmerLand tournament. This golf competition is organized at the Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort, in the town of Farsø. Until 2019, the tournament was called Made in Denmark. The 2020 competition had been canceled due to the health crisis and since last year the tournament has taken the name of Made in HimmerLand, in reference to its location, north of the Himmerland peninsula.

Crown Prince Frederik took part in a pre-competition, the Pro-Am, organized for a few non-professional VIPs who want to test their skills before the real tournament kicks off. The Queen’s eldest son has already taken part in this Pro-Am competition four times.

Crown Prince Frederik joined a shock team to try the 18 holes. He found himself on a team that included former golfer Thomas Bjørn, JYSK Holding board chairman Jacob Brunsborg, and former racing driver Tom Kristensen.

The Made in HimmerLand tournament starts this Thursday September 1st and lasts until September 4th. In the last two editions (in 2021 and 2019), Dane Bernd Wiesberg won the tournament. The young Belgian golfer Thomas Pieters also won the tournament in 2016.
