The Colombian Football Federation announced this Thursday the new challenge for the senior women’s team in October. The national cast, led by Nelson Abadía, will face Paraguay, rival in the group stage of the last Copa América.
The Colombians continue their preparation for the Australia-New Zealand World Cup, which will be between June and July 2023, and to which they qualified after the second place in the last Cup that Brazil won. After the friendly double against Costa Rica, which they beat 2-0 and 1-0, the Paraguayans will be their next warm-up.
Through Twitter, the FCF reported that the first game will be on October 8, at 5:00 pm, at the Deportivo Cali stadium behind closed doors. Three days later, on October 11, they will play at 7:30 pm at the Pascual Guerrero, with the presence of fans.
It should be remembered that Colombia rivaled Paraguay on the first day of the group stage of the Copa América. The tricolor won 4-2 with a brace from Daniela Montoya, in addition to goals from Mayra Ramírez and Manuela Vanegas, while Jessica Martínez and former Santa Fe player Fany Gauto scored for the red-and-white.
