This Wednesday evening at La Meilleraie, Cholet had its European destiny in hand. Facing Turkey’s Besiktas, Kim Tillie and his gang won 93-62 and will play a final on Friday against Dutch side ZZ Leiden to advance to the main round of the FIBA Europe Cup.

“Europe is the number one objective”, claimed Kim Tillie before the meeting. After his victory against ASVEL, Cholet did not flinch and immediately got back to work. Facing Besiktas at La Meilleraie, CB gave no quarter and largely won (93-62) and will play a final against the Dutch ZZ Leiden on Friday (8:30 p.m.). The message got through.

If the start was difficult, Cholet was able to find the solutions to impose his rhythm in the meeting despite the address of Usher. Laurent Vila’s men only needed half time to take the measure of their evening opponent, aware that their European adventure could end this Wednesday evening when some like Tillie, Patton or Sako are came to Mauges to play for Europe. Cholet therefore plunged the Stambouliotes and tried to do it with style, inflicting a 12-0 before seeing it turn into 29-6, 51-26 at halftime. Boris Dallo and his family have gone into European mode and the Turks have understood this so much the prowess of Tillie, Patton, Artis, Sako and Robineau have made them dive.

If the Turks tried to come back with long-range shots under the leadership of Orelik, Brown and Usher (55-34, 22 ‘), Cholet went into overdrive to put their heads back under water. Perry Ellis and TJ Campbell took care of the scoring while Boris Dallo continued to play his score wonderfully by distilling the assists. CB continued to race in the lead and kept a wide margin at the start of the last quarter (74-49, 30’) before being content to manage until the end of the match.

Cholet now has an appointment with ZZ Leiden – who scored the Poles of Czarni Slupsk (78-74) – this Friday in the final. If the Choletais have done the hardest part by dismissing Besiktas, they have 40 minutes left to qualify and play for Europe.
