Bolivia takes 296 athletes to the Asuncion Games – El Diario

The Bolivian Olympic Committee (COB) announced the list of the 296 athletes that will make up the Bolivian team, which will compete in 35 disciplines at the XII South American Games in Asunción, to be held from October 1 to 15.
One month in advance, the COB shared the list of athletes who won the right to represent the country in these Games, after passing the qualification process in the tournaments organized by the national federations.
The Central Government promised to cover the athletes’ tickets, while the Olympic Committee will cover the cost of registration, presentation and competition uniforms, and biosafety equipment.
With the anticipated delivery of the list of qualified athletes for the XII South American Games, it is expected to avoid the complications that occurred before the XIX Bolivarian Games in Valledupar (Colombia), held from June 24 to July 5, when the delegation was at risk of not attending due to the lack of financial collaboration to cover their transportation costs.
Among the selected athletes are: Angela Castro (athletic walking), Jhoselyn Camargo (5,000 and 10,000), Héctor Garibay (10,000), Vidal Basco (5,000 and 10,000 meters), David Ninavia (1,500 and 5,000); Ever Quisbert (boxing); Micaela and Abigail Saravia (Cycling); Marco Rojas (fencing); Fabiana Abastoflor (rhythmic gymnastics), Mariana Espejo (trampolinism) and Anahi Rocha (trampolinism). Nicholas Barron (karate).
Karen Tórrez, María José Ribera, Esteban Núñez del Prado and José Quintanilla in swimming; Federico Zeballos, Noelia Zeballos and Boris Arias, in tennis; Jessica Velasco (sports shooting) and Camila Paredes (archery), to name a few.
Bolivia will have representation in the following disciplines: chess, athletics, badminton, handball, basketball, bowling, boxing, canoeing, cycling (mountain, track and road), bicycle cross, equestrian sports, fencing, bodybuilding, futsal (ladies and men), golf , gymnastics (rhythmic, artistic and trampolinism), field hockey, judo, karate, among others.
