Bizarre race. Hundreds of tyrannosaurs raced down the track in America

Going back some 68 million years? It almost could have looked like that, because tyrannosaurs were running around the Earth again. Although in the Mesozoic era they probably did not hold such races among themselves as the one in Auburn in the American state of Washington.

Hundreds of enthusiasts dressed up as Tyrannosaurus rex – one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs of all time – went to the Emerald Downs racetrack.

Then they lined up in the starting boxes instead of the horses and immediately started on the 270 meter long track and fought for a remarkable first place.

The tyrannosaur race was held for the second time. The premiere in 2019 met with unexpected success, the footage of the curious race collected over 100 million views on social networks.

Then until this year, even one of the biggest terrestrial predators of the past had to give way to the covid-19 pandemic.
