THIS is Bayern’s true top eleven

That’s right, Bayern were very lucky in beating Barcelona 2-0 in the first half. But the bottom line is that this victory is a message to Europe and all Lewandowski misses: we are to be reckoned with!

If coach Julian Nagelsmann (35) draws the right conclusions from this valuable success, he should be able to continue working in peace for the time being and also win in Augsburg on Saturday. A look at Bayern’s past can help him.

1. Referring to one of his predecessors van Gaal: Musiala always plays!

Van Gaal related that to Müller in 2009, now it has to apply to the best 19-year-old in the world. He outshines everyone on offense. It would be absurd to rest him while he is in top form. Musiala makes the difference!

2. In memory of ex-boss Rummenigge: football is not mathematics!

With this sentence Rummenigge had heralded the beginning of the end of the coaching legend Hitzfeld in November 2007 because he had overdone it with the rotation against Bolton Wanderers – like Nagelsmann in the 2-2 win against Stuttgart with six changes.

In the meantime, the current top eleven has emerged: Neuer, Mazraoui, Upamecano, Hernández, Davies, Kimmich, Goretzka, Musiala, Müller, Mané, Sané. It would be promising to change in the next two months until the World Cup break only in the case of suspensions, low form or injuries – like now with Hernández (out for weeks). Nagelsmann already clinched the first three wins of the season with the same starting formation.

So the triple dream could live on!

But maybe Nagelsmann will follow a completely different idea on Saturday in Augsburg…
