After the first games of the tournament, the President of the German Basketball Federation, Ingo Weiss, criticized the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF for not showing the German games live. The broadcasters rejected the criticism. So far, the German games have only been streamed free of charge by the Internet broadcaster Magentasport – the Telekom subsidiary had acquired the TV rights and is also showing all other EM games. ARD and ZDF show excerpts of the games in their formats like on Sunday in the “Sportschau”.

Before the duel with the favored Greeks, the two regular players Johannes Voigtmann and Nick Weiler-Babb reported that they were ready to play. Co-captain Voigtmann is fit again after a cold that caused him to take a break from training on Monday and should play. Weiler-Babb, who was only naturalized before the European Championships, has overcome his shoulder problems and is also operational.

The use of Franz Wagner is also possible, but should only be decided immediately before the start of the game. The German Basketball Federation (DBB) announced this on Tuesday a few hours before the start of the game. The 21-year-old Wagner twisted his ankle in the 85:79 against Montenegro on Saturday and injured his ankle. On Monday he had at least completed throws and short runs again in training in Berlin.
