The German basketball players are worried about NBA professional Franz Wagner before the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The 21-year-old twisted his ankle in the third quarter of the round of 16 win against Montenegro on Saturday evening in Berlin and limped out of the Mercedes Benz Arena after the game.
“It’s hard for me to speculate. We’ll do an MRI, then we’ll know more. We will certainly be smarter tomorrow,” said national coach Gordon Herbert after the 85:79, in which Wagner scored 14 points in 21:16 minutes of play.

The native of Berlin from the Orlando Magic is one of the top performers in the Herbert team. Before the European Championships, his brother Moritz Wagner had already dropped out due to an ankle injury. (dpa/pw)
