ATP – Moselle Open > Wawrinka: “I’m not saying I’m going to win a Grand Slam, but I see every day what I’m still capable of doing”

Still looking for his level of play since his return to the courts last March after a year of absence following a foot injury, Stan Wawrinka, who came out of qualifying for the Moselle Open, returned to the conference release on his state of mind a few weeks before the end of the season. And obviously, the Swiss intends to hang on until his efforts pay off.

“There is still a margin, I see it, I feel it. I would have preferred to have a wild card tableau, but I thank the tournament for inviting me to qualify anyway. I have no problem going down in category, I need competition, to follow up as much as possible. The older you get, the longer it takes to put the puzzle back together. I am lucid about my current level, I had won a match in five months… I’m not saying that I’m going to win a Grand Slam, but I see every day what I’m still capable of doing. I spent a number of hours in the field and in fitness. I know it will pay. Next year I will find a level that suits me. »
