Andy Murray and Great Britain eliminated in Davis Cup group stage

It’s over for Andy Murray and Great Britain in the Davis Cup group stage. The Brits lost 2-1 to the Netherlands on Friday in Glasgow. A new defeat, after that against the United States on Wednesday, which erases any hope of qualification for the final phase. If Daniel Evans won (6-4, 6-4) after the first single against Tallon Griekspoor, the British number one Cameron Norrie lost (6-4, 6-2) against Botic Van de Zandschulp.

The fate of the meeting was therefore played during the double opponent Andy Murray and Joe Salisbury to Wesley Koolhof and Matwe Middelkoop. As against the Americans, the British pair gave up in three sets (7-6, 6-7, 6-3) despite a match point saved in the second set. The Netherlands and the United States, both qualified, will face off on Saturday to decide the winner of this group D.
