Andre Iguodala extends Golden State Warriors contract for likely final NBA season

Andre Iguodala, the 38-year-old guard, will extend his contract for one year at the Golden State Warriors. The American announced it on Friday in his “Point Fordward” podcast with his teammate Stephen Curry: “ I tell you Steph, it’s the last one “said Iguodala, who should therefore end his career on a nineteenth season in the NBA.

The 2015 Finals MVP won his fourth league title last year with the Warriors. Bob Myers, the director of the Californian franchise, had insisted on the importance of the role of the veteran in the team: ” Andre is one of those players… He’s a very respected person, and he has a strong presence. He’s one of the few people in the world who can look Stephen Curry, Draymond Green or Klay Thompson in the eye and confront them but also catch a Jordan Poole, (Jonathan) Kuminga ou (James) Wiseman and talk to them, encourage them. There’s no one else in the league who can do that for our team. »
