Albert Pujols hit the 700th home run of his MLB career

Albert Pujols (42) entered the very closed circle of players with 700 home runs in MLB on Friday. The St Louis Cardinals, his team, crushed the Los Angeles Dodgers (11-0) and, on this occasion, Pujols hit two HR’s to bring his career total to 700. He could still improve his statistics, since the Cardinals, in the race for a place in the play-offs, still have 10 regular season matches to play.

Albert Pujols joined three MLB legends in the “700 club”: Babe Ruth (714 home runs), the greatest player of all time, Hank Aaron (755) and Barry Bonds (762). During his career, which began in 2001, Pujols played in St Louis, then joined the LA Angels in 2012, before returning to the Cardinals this year. He won the World Series in 2006 and 2011 and was National League MVP in 2005, 2008 and 2009.
