After Djedovic’s departure: Lucic new Bayern captain | Sports

The Bayern basketball players start the season with a new captain. Vladimir Lucic (33) wears the armband for the Bundesliga opener on Saturday (6 p.m.) against Ulm. The Serb, who has played for Munich since 2016, will succeed Nihad Djedovic (32), who moved to Malaga (Spain).

Lucic happily: “For me personally it’s a very nice thing, I’m going into my seventh season here and have felt like an integral part of this organization for a long time.” And explains: “Munich and the club have become my second home. Like I said, that makes me very happy, although nothing will change in how I will support the team on and off the court.”

Co-captain is national player Andreas Obst (26), who, like his colleague Nick Weiler-Babb (26), will start team training for the first time on Tuesday after winning the German bronze medal at the European Championships.
